John F Hunt Power was formed in 1998 to offer nationwide temporary power services to a wide variety of industries.
Since our formation, we have been at the forefront of innovation in the industry and our commitment to offering our clients the most up to date and efficient solutions has positioned us as a true market leader.
We offer Super Silent and Ultra Quiet generators from 20 to 1250 KVA and over the years have developed long-standing working relationships with some of the UK’s biggest contractors in Construction, Utilities, Events and Medical industries.

John formed John F Hunt Contracting Ltd in 1982 initially specialising in Industrial and Chemical Plant Dismantling. The business, later renamed John F Hunt Demolition Ltd, became the parent of the Group. Today, known as John F Hunt Ltd, it is recognised as being one of the leading demolition companies in the UK.
John made a name for himself in the deconstruction of Large Panel Tower Blocks and was asked to Co-Author the first NFDC Guidance Notes on the Demolition of Tower Blocks over 10 Storeys. He went on to be instrumental in promoting High Reach mechanical demolition and the use of Hydraulic Attachments within the Industry.
The John F Hunt Group now consists of a number of specialist companies and employs well over 450 staff throughout its 10 depots and offices. Apart from Demolition, activities include Land Remediation, Plant & Tool Hire, Power Generation, Asbestos Removal, House Building, Lifting Gear Testing, Stonemasonry and a Health and Safety Consultancy with three UKAS accredited laboratories.
Supported by a team of experienced directors, John is responsible for the day-to-day management of John F Hunt Ltd and has ultimate responsibility for all Group Health and Safety matters, Director recruitment, formulation of company policies, ISO compliance, marketing & branding, customer relationships, consultancy work, company vision, direction and expansion.
The Group has achieved ISO 9001 “Quality Management Systems”, ISO 14001 “Environmental Management Systems” and ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management accreditation.

David Hunt
Managing Director
David joined John F Hunt Power as Sales Director, following 30 years within multinational finance houses both in the UK and across Europe. Having greatly benefitted the growth of the company in recent years, David has now undertaken the role of Managing Director.
He brought with him a wealth of experience in developing business relationships with strategic customers and took control of the development of new projects, progressing existing business contacts and evolving new opportunities.
With this invaluable knowledge, David is perfectly placed to take the business forward, whilst overseeing the expansion and efficient running of the depots throughout the country.
Rocky Sivell
Regional Operations Director
Rocky became the Regional Operations Director for John F Hunt Power in 2019 and oversees the London and Bristol depots.
Having joined the company in 2011, Rocky worked for 3 years on the hire desk, progressing to Depot Manager where over 5 years he helped grow the London operation to the progressive business that is it today, gaining his CPC Transport Managers licence within that period.
Due to his involvement through all levels of the company, he has an excellent understanding of the Power Industry, which he brings to his new role as Regional Operations Director, to help continue to grow the business throughout the UK.
Rocky began his career in plant hire in 2006 through to 2009 when he moved to the generator industry, working within the Finning Group at Energyst CAT Rental, until the London branch was closed and he moved to John F Hunt Power.
Stuart Davies
Regional Operations Director
Stuart Davies is the Regional Operations Director for John F Hunt Power overseeing all operations at Halesowen in the West Midlands, Birtley in the North East and Livingston in Scotland.
Stuart began his career at John F Hunt Power in June 2006, becoming the Hire Controller based at the newly opened Midlands depot. Over the following 7 years he took on more responsibility, assisting in the continued growth of the company and setting up the Newcastle depot, setting up processes and procedures which were rolled out across the rest of the depots.
In September 2013 Stuart was appointed as the Depot Manager, coinciding with Power’s move to the larger Halesowen site. In May 2016 he also became the Transport Manager for Halesowen and Newcastle following the successful completion of the Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage. Stuart also holds the Operating Licence for the Scotland depot.
Over the last 13 years he has worked closely with all the depots, managing their extensive portfolio of event customers, helping to build excellent working relationships, resulting in John F Hunt Power becoming one of the top providers of generators in the UK.
Prior to his career at John F Hunt, Stuart worked in secure records management, which involved liaising with blue chip companies, including major banks, insurance companies and local NHS in order to retrieve documentation or data back-ups which were stored securely offsite.
Ian Vincent
Regional Sales Director
Ian joined John F Hunt Power as a Regional Sales Manager for the South East and London in January 2016, before being promoted in early 2019 to Regional Sales Director.
Having spent 4 years working with another power generation company, Ian brought with him experience within the temporary power industry, where he had built up a loyal customer base.
As well as being responsible for a number of key accounts across the UK, Ian has identified new opportunities in the London area and oversees the Sales Managers across the South East, whilst consistently delivering an excellent customer service.
Matt Walker
Regional Sales Director
Matt joined John F Hunt Power in 2009, as a Regional Sales Manager at our Midlands depot.
Bringing with him a loyal customer base and years of experience in the generator industry, Matt has gone on to secure a number of key accounts for the business and was promoted to Regional Sales Director in early 2019. As well as being responsible for a number of key clients across the UK, Matt also oversees our team of Sales Managers in the Midlands and South West.
A career in customer services roles started with his first full time job working the TSB Bank. Since then, sales roles in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, as well as spending time with 3 other generator hire companies, have given Matt invaluable experience across a number of different industries.
Phillip Barnes
Regional Sales Director
Phil joined John F Hunt Power as a Regional Sales Manager for Teesside and North Yorkshire in February 2019, before his promotion to Regional Sales Director in November 2021, managing the Sales teams in Scotland and the North-East of England.
He began his working life in Power Tool Sales and then Hire, progressing from Showroom Assistant to Hire Controller and finally Senior Sales Advisor, before deciding on a complete change of career and moving into the Travel industry.
At Going Places Travel, Phil became Assistant Manager, until deciding to leave London in 1999 and move to the Northeast of England after meeting his future wife. An opportunity arose with American Express Corporate Travel Services in Newcastle Upon Tyne where he undertook the role of Deputy Team Leader, supervising staff, carrying out training and experiencing much customer interaction.
Finally, in 2005 Phil returned to the Hire Industry undertaking a number of roles within Plant & Tool Hire, before moving into Power Generation, working in managerial positions before bringing his experience and knowledge to John F Hunt Power.
David Hazelwood
Associate Director
David became Associate Director for John F Hunt Power in January 2022.
Having joined the company as a Yard Assistant in 2013, he has worked in several roles across the business including Hire Controller, Business Development Manager and Regional Sales Manager.
In his current role as part of the leadership team, David plays a key role in operations, marketing, and sales, whilst maintaining account management responsibilities for a portfolio of key accounts.
His experience of working in roles across all levels of the business is a key asset to the management team.
Prior to working for John F Hunt, David studied for a bachelor’s degree in Media & Communication at Nottingham Trent University, gaining a skill base which has helped the business grow it’s online presence in recent years.
Kevin Davies
Managing Director
Kevin began his working career in 1973 as a diesel apprentice engineer. After qualifying in 1979, he changed employer and went to work for a large specialist hire company working on mechanical and electrical equipment. Within four months he was promoted to Field Service Engineer and within a further six months, was promoted to Depot Foreman, becoming the youngest foreman within the company.
Kevin joined John F Hunt Power in 2005 and over the years has occupied several positions within the company beginning with Technical Sales Manager, where he maintained existing business and secured new business.
Promotion to Depot Manager saw him responsible for the day to day running of the business which included achieving financial targets and controlling the sales and services departments, reporting to directors on a monthly basis. As Operations Director of John F Hunt Power, he oversaw the operation, sales and service departments, ensuring controlled management procedures were undertaken in all the depots throughout the country.
Kevin is now Managing Director of John F Hunt Power.
Jeff Gale
Commercial Director
Jeff joins John F Hunt Power as Commercial Director following a career of over 30 years in international financial markets in the City of London. Recently he has worked as a consultant for various companies and large financial institution consortiums where his roles have involved launching, developing, and scaling up firms. He has considerable experience in project management and business development.
Originally employed by the Power business as a Management Consultant, Jeff is now delighted to step up, in a full-time capacity as Commercial Director, as the firm continues its impressive growth.
David Blewitt
Technical Director – John F Hunt Power Ltd
Having joined John F Hunt Power as a Field Service Engineer in 2008, David progressed to Foreman of the Halesowen depot, swiftly followed by the role of Technical Manager and, finally, Technical Director in 2022. He has helped grow the business into what it is today through his commitment and unwavering loyalty, insisting upon the training and constant ‘up-skilling’ of staff to stay ahead of the game.
David started his working life as an apprentice electrician with Tarmac Construction, quickly moving to a newly created generator division where he worked for 9 years. He joined Caterpillar Finning as a generator Field Engineer in 2000, where he was involved in multiple aspects of generator hire, especially the regional electricity companies, holding contracts for most of the utility companies for the whole of the UK. He worked with multiple events companies, providing power for some of the country’s largest events such as Formula 1, concerts, festivals, TV, film, and Royal events.
He managed many projects, from a generator farm power station in Kenya, Tenerife, and Lanzarote to the 2004 Euro football in Portugal, installing power compounds for 4 stadiums. During this time, he moved into ‘load bank’ projects, working everywhere from GCHQ to data centres and large banks in the City of London, including Canary Warf, Nuclear Power stations, laboratories, and military installations.
